Birdlife
A landscape alive with wingsong.
Rooksnest Estate supports a rich variety of birdlife, from barn owls—monitored through specialist surveys and nesting box schemes—to birds of prey such as red kites, buzzards and kestrels. Farmland and woodland habitats attract a wide range of songbirds and ground-nesting species, including skylarks, yellowhammers and corn buntings, with occasional sightings of rarer birds. Participation in the RSPB annual bird count, along with winter feeding stations and wild bird cover crops, helps sustain and monitor healthy bird populations across the Estate.
