Cattle

In the heart of the Rooksnest Estate are our herd of Pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle. They enjoy summer’s grazing the rolling parkland around Inholmes House and winter’s tucked into a well-managed cattle shed. They are fed a mostly grass diet, with some additional mixed feed during the winter months to keep them in good condition. Aberdeen Angus is a traditional breed, popular in the UK. It is slower growing than the Continental breeds which gives time for the meat to develop beautiful fat marbling throughout, making it taste really good.
