Woodland
Planting for permanence.
With 500 acres of woodland, Rooksnest Estate is expanding tree cover to support carbon capture and biodiversity, planting over 2,000 native species including oak, beech and hazel in the past year alone. Woodland is managed through a long-term plan that guides sustainable planting, thinning and coppicing, while less productive arable land is gradually returned to trees. The Estate is also responding to challenges such as ash dieback and has planted extensive new hedgerows over the past decade, creating valuable habitats for birds, insects and small mammals.
